A New Audience for a Historic Attraction

Located on Charleston Harbor, Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum is comprised of three warships and a shore-side Vietnam Experience. Although the museum is a bucket-list destination for veterans and history buffs, our goal is to bring history to life for entirely new generations.

Hands-On History


To help Patriots Point generate additional ticket revenue outside of its history-loving core audience, we needed to find out what motivates younger generations to visit. Using insights based on extensive research, BGRM developed a new campaign that emphasized the immersive museum experience and new hands-on attractions.

Past Meets Present


The new “History Comes Alive” campaign combines photos of visitors enjoying Patriots Point in present day with real historical photos to demonstrate how Patriots Point allows you to see, touch, and feel history in a way other area attractions simply can’t.

When the Ship Hits the Sand


We put the “sun” in “stunts” for Patriots Point by sponsoring the Isle of Palms Sand Sculpting Contest during the height of summer travel. Not only did we expose the brand to out-of-town beach-goers, but we also had a professional sand sculptor create the “USS Shorektown” for photo opps.
