This Weekend in Charleston
Although it may only be Wednesday, it is never really too early to start planning out this weekend’s festivities. As Fall begins to permeate through the Charleston air, we have less and less days that we can “fall” back on just going to the beach…again. Sigh, #charlestonprobs. So what is there to do this weekend in town? I’m glad you asked.
For the Foodie
Stars Rooftop & Grill Room, located on 495 King Street is all the buzz around town. Their official opening will be this Friday. The first floor features a dining room and full bar, the second floor holds a private event space, and the third floor is home to the rooftop bar. This new spot is definitely worth a try whether you are staying for dinner or just enjoying a few cocktails on the roof. Make your reservations here!
For the Philanthropist
Make-A-Wish South Carolina has partnered with the town of Mount Pleasant and Clear Channel Media and Entertainment to present Wine, Brew, and Wishes Too at Mount Pleasant Waterfront Park this Saturday at 6:00PM. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. The event will feature tastings of more than 100 fine wines and 12 craft beers. More event details can be found here. Be sure to come out this Saturday to help Make-A-Wish South Carolina continue granting wishes for Lowcountry children with life-threatening medical conditions.
For the Bacon-ologist
Saturday at noon, head on over to Ted’s Bacon Extravaganza Block Party. Ted’s Butcherblock will be having bacon tastings, a “bacon explosion,” and special bacon-themed cuisine. Personally, I would get over to East Bay and sample away before any shortages hinder our bacon intake abilities. Click here for more details.
For the Environmentalist
Although the Farmer’s Market typically brings quite the crowd to Marion Square on Saturdays, this weekend it will host the Charleston Green Fair. Find out the full details here, but some cool green activities that will be going on include Solar Sunday NFL Ticket, cooking demos using local Farmer’s Market ingredients, and live music. Head out and go green, y’all.
For the Athlete
So the NHL season may be on hold, but this Saturday kicks off hockey season in Charleston. Opening Night specials include ticket deals, a Stingray alumni game, and happy hour specials. Let’s Go Stingrays!
One thing I will say about this city – there is never a lack of fun things to do. Cheers and happy weekend planning!
