Facebook Ad Finds Missing Cat
A man in London successfully used Facebook ads to find his missing cat last week. This article by Mashable tells his full story – http://mashable.com/2012/09/10/facebook-ads-missing-cat/, but here’s the synopsis:

The cat [Zion] had been missing for two days. The owner [James Woodley] had already tried posting missing cat flyers and going door-to-door. So in a last-ditch effort, he created a Facebook Page for the Zion and then bought Facebook ads geographically targeted to his London suburb, directing clicks to Zion’s page for additional information.
Within 30 minutes, a woman saw the ad, recognized the cat and contacted Woodley, who immediately drove and found Zion, right where the tipster said she saw him.
Although a great feel good story, this also shows the power of Facebook ads, when the right message is targeted to the right audience. Even when that audience is as small as a single suburb of London.
